Though, this can be an even more difficult decision for seniors due to accessibility needs, travel constraints, and access to medical facilities if needed. We are here to suggest a few places to make the search a little easier.
For the scenic retreat lovers, here are a couple options. Asheville, North Carolina is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing beautiful views, cooler temperatures, scenic drives, and art galleries. Bar Habor, Maine is another beautiful location with a coastal feel and Acadia National Park. This location provides opportunities for boat tours and gentle walking paths to enjoy nature.
Speaking of coastal adventure, Florida is home to many beautiful beaches. Some senior friendly areas to visit are Sand Key Beach located in Clearwater. These areas offer convenient parking, well-kept beaches, and washrooms. Also, Oasis Beach in Dunedin, FL is a quieter alternative to the popular Clearwater beaches. Lastly, Manatee Public Beach at Holmes Beach, FL provides a relaxing beach day with offering food, bathrooms, and showers and changing rooms.
Now for the historical and entertainment sightseers, Philedelphia, Pennsylvania would be a great stop on your journey as it has walkable historic sights. Washington, D.C. is another good option as there are many museums to tour and an accessible metro system. Santa Fe, New Mexico provides many beautiful sights through art galleries and flamenco shows. For live shows, museums, and golf courses that will be enjoyful for seniors, Branson, Missouri would be a fun stop this summer. For those interested in local food, lake views, and even the Harley Davidson Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin might be the perfect sight for you.
